Texas Rig
A weedless soft-plastic setup. The weight slides above an offset hook.

Stained to muddy cover, and any season when bass hold in wood or grass.

1Main line15 lb fluorocarbon, or 30 lb braid to a 15 lb leader
2Weight1/8–1/2 oz tungsten bullet, pegged only in heavy grass
3Hook3/0 or 4/0 extra-wide-gap offset hook
4Bait5–7 in stick worm or creature, green pumpkin in clear water
Assembly
Steps

Slide the bullet weight on the main line, point facing the rod.

Tie the offset hook with a Palomar knot. The hook point faces up.

Insert the point into the nose of the bait and bring it out about 1/4 inch down.
- 4
Rotate the hook and lay the body straight. Measure, reinsert, and skin-hook the point so it lays flat.
