Schematic, follow the words.
Step 3
Keep each wrap tight against the last one. Do not let the weave bunch.
Schematic, follow the words.
Step 4
Lock the weave with a half hitch around both lines.
Schematic, follow the words.
Step 5
Add a second half hitch around the leader only.
Schematic, follow the words.
Step 6
Trim the leader tag close and the braid tag short. Pull hard once to seat it.
Follow the words, not the drawing. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.
Common mistakes
- Loose wraps that slide under load.
- Trimming the leader tag so short that the lock hitch slips off.
