This line
The braid is the wrapping line. Keep it tight as it goes down and back.

The first time you need a leader on the boat. Practice it at home once.

Step 1
Make a loop in the leader and hold the crossover.

Wrap the braid down the loop 7 times, inside the loop.

Wrap back over those turns toward the start, 7 times.

Pass the braid tag out through the loop the way it entered.

Wet the knot, pull the braid standing line, then pull the leader to seat it.

Trim both tags.
Follow the words, not the drawing. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.
Common mistakes
- Wraps that leave the leader loop.
- Forgetting the return wraps, which leaves a uni instead of an Alberto.
