This line
Braid can slip at only three turns. Use a Palomar or an eight-turn uni on braid.
Avoid when
Very slick braid and very heavy shock leaders.

Step 1
Pass the tag through the eye.

Step 2
Fold a loop in the tag beside the standing line.

Step 3
Pass the tag through that loop once.

Step 4
Complete three passes through the loop.

Step 5
Wet the knot, draw it to the eye, and trim the tag.
The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.
Common mistakes
- Two wraps instead of three, which is how this knot slips.
- Tightening the loop before the three wraps are in it.
