The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.

  1. Step 1

Pass the tag through the hook eye twice, so a loop sits beside the eye.

  2. Step 2

Wrap the tag around the standing line 5 times, working away from the eye.

  3. Step 3

Pass the tag through the loop that was formed beside the eye.

  4. Step 4

Wet the wraps and pull the standing line until the knot seats against the eye.

  5. Step 5

    Trim the tag.

Common mistakes

  • Passing the eye only once, which leaves you with a clinch.
  • Missing the loop beside the eye when you tuck the tag.
