Stevedore Knot

Step 1
Form a loop.

Step 2
Take an extra turn around the loop.

Step 3
Pass the tag through.

Step 4
Pull the stopper tight.

Step 5
It should be too fat to enter the block.
The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.
Common mistakes
- Not enough bulk, so it still pulls through the block.
- The extra turn left out, which is then an overhand.
