Sheet Bend

Step 1
Make a bight in the thicker rope.

Step 2
Pass the thinner rope up through the bight.

Step 3
Around the back of the bight.

Step 4
Tuck the tag under its own standing part.

Step 5
Pull both standing parts. The tags should sit on the same side.
The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.
Common mistakes
- The thin rope's tag on the wrong side, so the bend slips.
- Using it on slick braid.
