The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.

  1. Step 1

Lay the leader out and start the braid beside it.

  2. Step 2

Serve 12 coils around the leader, all in the same direction.

  3. Step 3

    Continue to 24 coils.

  4. Step 4

Half-hitch the tag over the last coils.

  5. Step 5

Pull the standing lines, then trim both tags.

Common mistakes

  • Coils that gap, which unravel from the tag end.
  • No locking hitch over the last coils.
