Pile Hitch

Pile Hitch


Step 1
Fold a bight.

Step 2
Drop the bight over the pile.

Step 3
Pull the standing part.

Step 4
The bight should cinch.

Step 5
Lift it off to release.
The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.
Common mistakes
- Using it as an overnight mooring in a tide.
- The bight too small to drop over the pile.
