Ossel Hitch
Attaches a net line to a thicker ground rope. The net line hitches so it stands off the ground rope. A commercial fishing knot, not a sport hook knot.

The net line can be smaller cord. Do not use braid main line.
Avoid when
A clove hitch, which will not stand the netting off the rope the same way.

Step 1
Lay the net line against the ground rope.

Step 2
Take a turn that stands off.

Step 3
Cross and tuck.

Step 4
Snug it so the net line leaves at a right angle.

Step 5
Check that it will not walk.
The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.
Common mistakes
- The hitch rolling along the ground rope.
- Tying it backward so the net line leads the wrong way.
