The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.

  1. Step 1

    Double the leader.

  2. Step 2

Pass the doubled end through the ring.

  3. Step 3

Wrap the doubled end around both standing legs. Three wraps.

  4. Step 4

Add a fourth wrap, then pass the doubled end through the loop above the ring.

  5. Step 5

Jam the knot on the ring. Trim the doubled end short.

Common mistakes

  • Wrapping only one leg, so the double collapses.
  • Forgetting to pass the doubled end back through the loop.
