The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.

  1. Step 1

Pass the line through the eye and down the shank.

  2. Step 2

Leave an open hair loop past the bend, and bring the tag back up the shank.

  3. Step 3

Pass the tag back through the eye.

  4. Step 4

Tie a small overhand stop on the hair, past the bend, so a bait cannot slide off.

  5. Step 5

Seat the wraps tight on the shank. The hair loop stays open past the bend.

Common mistakes

  • No stop on the hair, so the bait slides off.
  • A hair so long the bait never reaches the hook.
