The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.

  1. Step 1

Wrap the sling down the rope.

  2. Step 2

    Keep the wraps stacked.

  3. Step 3

Pass the sling through its own eye.

  4. Step 4

Load the eye, not the wraps.

  5. Step 5

It should grip when pulled and slide when pushed.

Common mistakes

  • Wraps that spiral the wrong way, so the hitch slides under load.
  • Tying it in fishing line around a leader.
