    Coil the rope.

  2. Step 2

    Pull a bight through the top of the coil.

  3. Step 3

    Open that bight.

  4. Step 4

    Cap it over the coil.

  5. Step 5

    The coil should hold.

Common mistakes

  • The bight too short to cap the coil.
  • Leaving the working end out.
