Footrope Knot

Step 1
Two strands lie together along the rope.

Step 2
Each end forms a bight, one above the rope and one below.

Step 3
The standing rope lies straight. The other strand weaves over, then under, outlining the diamond.

Step 4
The finished stopper keeps a diamond-shaped opening in the middle, so a footrope would stop against it.
The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.
Common mistakes
- Pulling the opening shut, so there is no step for the foot.
- Strands left slack.
