Avoid when
A heavy leader that must pass tiny guides. The butted barrels are bulkier than an FG.

Doubled Double Uni Knot
Step 1
Overlap the two lines by about eight inches.
Step 2
Form the first uni and wrap it 4 times.
Step 3
Finish 6 turns on the first barrel.
Step 4
Tie the second uni the other way, 4 turns.
Step 5
Wet both knots. Pull the standing lines so the barrels move toward each other.
Step 6
Stop when the two barrels butt together. Trim both tags.
The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.
Common mistakes
- The same turn count on braid and fluoro.
- Pulling the tags, which leaves a gap between the barrels.
