Avoid when

The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.

  1. Step 1

    Form the small loop.

  2. Step 2

Take the tag through it once.

  3. Step 3

Take the tag through it a second time.

  4. Step 4

Around the standing part and back down.

  5. Step 5

Dress it. The working loop stays open.

Common mistakes

  • Only one turn in the small loop, which is a plain bowline.
  • The loop closed up. Then it is not a loop.

Used on

This knot is for hard baits more than a soft-plastic rig.
