The main braid is whipped onto the base of the stiff loop. Do not use a bulky double uni here if you want the hinge.

Avoid when

A hair rig. That is the knotless knot. This link is the hinge above the hair.

    Form the stiff loop.

    Lay the braid at the base of the loop.

    Whip several turns over both legs.

    Pass the tag back under the whip.

    The loop stays open.

Common mistakes

  • Pulling the loop shut.
  • Whipping so few turns that the stiff section pulls out.
