The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.

  1. Step 1

Pass the tag through the eye and lay it back along the standing line.

  2. Step 2

Spiral the tag. Each turn sits closer to the eye.

  3. Step 3

Finish four turns. Leave a gap before the eye.

  4. Step 4

Pass the tag through the small loop nearest the eye.

  5. Step 5

Slide the spiral against the eye and trim the tag.

Common mistakes

  • Even clinch-style wraps instead of a spiral that tightens toward the eye.
  • Missing the near loop with the tag.
