The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.

  1. Step 1

Start with an end loop and pass it through the eye.

  2. Step 2

Twist the two legs. 3 twists so far.

  3. Step 3

    Finish 5 twists.

  4. Step 4

Fold the twisted loop back over the hook.

  5. Step 5

Pull the standing legs. The twists should seat against the eye and the loop is used up.

Common mistakes

  • Too few twists, so the paw slips off the eye.
  • Crossing the legs unevenly, which leaves one strand slack.
