Step 1
Through the ring.

Step 2
Around the standing part.

Step 3
Tie a half hitch around the standing part.

Step 4
The hitch should slide toward the ring.

Step 5
Load it. It should jam.
The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.
Common mistakes
- A clove hitch, which shakes loose.
- Expecting to untie it after a hard pull.
