Bowline On A Bight

Step 1
Fold a bight in the middle of the rope.

Step 2
Form the small loop with the doubled section.

Step 3
Pass the bight up through that loop.

Step 4
Open the bight over the whole knot.

Step 5
Dress it. One loop stays open in the middle.
The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.
Common mistakes
- Using the tag end instead of a bight, which is an ordinary bowline.
- The bight pulled back out before the collar is dressed.
Used on
This knot is for hard baits more than a soft-plastic rig.
