This line
Braid usually needs 30 or more twists. This count is for mono.
Avoid when
Letting the twists overlap while you make them. They should stack only after you spread the loop.

Bimini Twist

Step 1
Double the line into a long loop.

Step 2
Put in the first 7 twists.

Step 3
Finish 20 twists.

Step 4
Spread the loop so the twists compress into a barrel.

Step 5
Wrap the tag leg back over the barrel, then lock it: 1 half hitch around one leg, then 3–5 half hitches around both legs.

Step 6
Seat the lock and trim the little tag. The doubled loop stays open.
The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.
Common mistakes
- Too few twists, so the barrel unravels.
- Locking wraps that do not cover the end of the twist column.
Used on
This knot is for hard baits more than a soft-plastic rig.
