The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.

  1. Step 1

Pass the braid through the eye once.

  2. Step 2

Start wrapping the tag back toward the eye.

  3. Step 3

Finish eight wraps in one layer.

  4. Step 4

Pass the tag through the eye a second time, from the same side as the first pass.

  5. Step 5

Wet the knot and pull the standing line until the wraps jam on the eye. Trim the tag.

Common mistakes

  • Stopping after the wraps and skipping the second pass through the eye.
  • Wraps piled on top of each other instead of a single coil.
