The drawing follows this tying order. Pause, step, or scrub to stay with the words. The standing line runs to the reel. The tag is the short end you trim. Skin-hook means the point lies flat in the plastic, not out where grass can grab it.

  1. Step 1

Start with the doubled braid loop.

  2. Step 2

Lay the fluoro leader along that double.

  3. Step 3

Wrap the fluoro away from the loop end, around both braid legs.

  4. Step 4

Pass the fluoro tag through the braid loop.

  5. Step 5

Pull the leader so the wraps seat, then trim.

Common mistakes

  • Wrapping toward the loop end so the tag cannot lock.
  • Using a single strand of braid. The knot wants the double.
