Anchor Bend
The anchor bend, also called a fisherman's bend, ties a rode to an anchor ring. A round turn, then two half hitches. It is a rope knot, not a mono knot.

Step 1
Pass the rope through the ring.

Take a full round turn.

Step 3
Add the first half hitch.

Add the second half hitch.

Snug both hitches against the ring.

Common mistakes
- One turn instead of a round turn, so the ring can chew the rope.
- The second hitch left loose, which walks off the first.
